Collective Soul will perform at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Friday evening.
The Georgia-formed alt-rock band was originally formed by bassist David Neal, guitarist Ross Childress and drummer Shane Evans, along with Ed (lead vocalist) and Dean Roland (rhythm guitarist). Both Roland brothers are the only members still present in the current lineup.
Three decades ago, the band burst onto the indie scene with the double-Platinum record “Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid.” Its lead single, “Shine,” became the band’s calling card after supposedly being written in the Rolands’ living room.
Collective Soul put out four more albums between 1995 and 2000, each climbing into the top 25 on the Billboard charts. Their latest project, a double album titled “Here to Eternity,” was released in May — it was notably produced and recorded at Elvis Presley’s former estate in Palm Springs, according to Substream.
After stopping in the Coachella Valley for the 8 p.m. show, the band is set to travel upstate for a concert Saturday in Lincoln.
