The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Thursday for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $4.722.
The average price has dropped 9.4 cents over the past 10 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 59.7 cents lower than one year ago but 23.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.651 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 11th time in 12 days, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.167. It has dropped 10.1 cents over the past 12 days, including four-tenths of a cents Wednesday. The national average price decreased two consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent April 7 and resumed dropping the next day.
The national average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 49.3 cents lower than one year ago but 8.9 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.849 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
