A brush fire that burned 100 acres east of Temecula was 70% contained Monday, with all evacuation orders lifted.

The Mindy Fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Decoursey Road and Mindy Lane in Aguanga, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find 20 acres burning at a moderate rate. The blaze grew to 72 acres by 5 p.m. and reached 100 acres later Sunday.

Evacuation orders were temporarily issued for areas north of Wilson Balley Road, west of Cahuilla Heights Road, east of Benton Road and south of Red Mountain Road.

The Riverside County Fire Department announced at 8:42 p.m. Sunday that evacuation orders in four zones were downgraded to warnings, while warnings in four other zones were lifted.

All but one evacuation warning was lifted by 9:36 p.m., with the final warning lifted Monday morning, according to Cal Fire.

About 100 personnel were assigned to the fire, including 19 engines, three water tenders, two bulldozers, four hand crews and numerous firefighting air tankers, Cal Fire said.

An evacuation shelter was opened at Hemet High School.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
