Three hikers in need of unspecified medical assistance at Painted Canyon Trail were awaiting rescue operations from authorities Tuesday near Thermal.
The call was reported shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday near Painted Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Rescue 9 helicopter was requested to assist at the scene.
