The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped two-tenths of a cent Thursday to $4.613, one day after rising three-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 1 cent more than one week ago, 9.1 cents higher than one month ago and 17.7 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $1.76 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the seventh time in eight days, decreasing a half-cent to $3.11. It has dropped 5 cents over the past eight days, including six-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The national average price began the run by decreasing four consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday. It is 4.9 cents less than one week ago, 8.3 cents lower than one month ago and 9.4 cents below what was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.906 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
