Forecasters predicted triple-digit temperatures and chances of thunderstorms next week in Riverside County.

Saturday temperatures reached a high of 91 in the downtown Riverside area, 85 in Temecula, 97 in Hemet, 105 in Coachella and 108 in Palm Springs, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday, temperatures were expected to reach 94 in the downtown Riverside area, 89 in Temecula, 97 in Hemet, 109 in Coachella and 108 in Palm Springs.

“Above-average high and low temperatures return early to mid next week,” the NWS announced.

Slight chances of thunderstorms were also predicted in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs on Monday and Wednesday, according to forecasters.

“The mountains and deserts have the greatest chances — 35% to 60% chance — to see bouts of heavy rainfall, lightning and small hail Monday afternoon and evening,” the NWS announced.

On Tuesday, chances of thunderstorms lower to 20% to 35%, but by Wednesday, greater chances of storms return to the inland areas, according to the NWS.

Wednesday was expected to be the warmest day all week, reaching a high of 103 in the downtown Riverside area, 98 in Temecula, 104 in Hemet, 113 in the Coachella Valley and 112 in Palm Springs.

By next Saturday, temperatures were expected to return to the low 90s in the downtown Riverside area, high 80s in Temecula, mid-90s in Hemet and low 100s in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs, according to the NWS.
