Los Angeles Rams Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley and three key defensive players are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, but to coach Jeff Fisher “that means they have a good chance of playing.”
Gurley, defensive tackle Michael Brockers and cornerbacks Trumaine Johnson and Lamarcus Joyner all missed Wednesday’s practice, but fully participated in Friday’s practice at California Lutheran University.. The team gave its players Thursday off, as it usually does.
Under NFL rules, a player is listed as questionable when it is uncertain whether he will play.
Gurley has a thigh injury, Brockers a groin injury, Johnson an ankle injury and Joyner a back injury.
Brockers and Johnson both started in Sunday’s 13-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Joyner was a reserve, but played in 46 of the 64 plays on defense.
Defensive end Matt Longacre is also listed as questionable because of a hip injury. He did not practice Friday or play against Carolina.
Rookie receiver Nelson Spruce will not play against the Jets because of a calf injury. He did not practice Wednesday or Friday and has not played since the first preseason game Aug. 13.
