Coachella Valley Firebirds forward Oscar Fisker Molgaard has been named to Team Denmark’s roster for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, the American Hockey League team announced Wednesday.
“Oscar’s selection to Team Denmark is a well-earned opportunity,” Firebirds General Manager Troy Bodie said in a statement. “He has consistently represented his country at the international level, and this selection reflects both his previous experience with Denmark’s national teams and the work he continues to put in every day with our organization. We’re proud to see him earn the chance to compete on the Olympic stage.”
Molgaard, 20, has 17 points in 28 games for Coachella Valley this season, with six goals and 11 assists.
The Denmark native was drafted in the second round in the 2023 National Hockey League entry draft by the Seattle Kraken, and made his NHL debut with the team earlier this season, notching an assist against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Prior to joining the Firebirds, he played 129 games in the Swedish Hockey League.
The men’s hockey tournament at the Winter Olympic Games will be held next month in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy.
