The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 1.2 cents Thursday for the third consecutive day to $4.851.
The three consecutive decreases follow a 12-day streak of increases totaling 26.4 cents that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline to its highest amount since April 10 according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is one-tenth of a cent less than one week ago but 13.5 cents more than one month ago and 36.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.642 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also dropped for the third consecutive day, decreasing 1.6 cents to $4.80. It has dropped 5.4 cents over the past three days, including 1.7 cents Wednesday.
The 11-day streak of increases totaling 28.6 cents that boosted the Orange County average price to its highest amount since April 9 ended Monday when it was unchanged.
The Orange County average price is nine-tents of a cent less than one week ago but 11.3 cents more than one month ago and 40.5 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.658 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $3.08. It has risen 1 cent over the past four days, including three-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The national average price is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and one year ago and two-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago. It has dropped $1.936 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
