Emergency crews rescued a wounded hiker on Hidden Springs Mountain Saturday.
The hiker suffered a lower extremity injury just before 8:30 a.m. while trekking the M Trail near Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to reach the hiker by ground, and a California Highway Patrol helicopter that was initially deployed was called back, fire officials said.
The hiker was walked down the trail by firefighters, though it was not immediately clear if the hiker was hospitalized.
