Riverside County will see slightly warmer than average temperatures and clear skies this weekend, weather forecasters said.

While the lower deserts will approach 115 degrees, temperatures will peak around 5 degrees above normal, mainly inland, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 2 p.m. Saturday, the temperature was 92 degrees in Riverside, 110 in Palm Springs, 109 in Blythe and 107 in Thermal, according to the NWS.

Looking ahead to Sunday, highs will be in the mid-to-high 90s west of the mountains, with triple-digit heat in the desert areas, which could also see windy conditions, forecasters said.

Gusts in wind-prone areas are expected to peak near 45 mph, weakening by Monday morning, the NWS said.

“A push of stronger onshore flow on Sunday will enhance winds through the passes and onto desert slopes and floors in the afternoon and evening, with elevated fire weather conditions for these areas,” forecasters said.
