A shooting involving a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy was reported Friday afternoon in Rancho Mirage, but it was not immediately clear if anybody was struck by gunfire.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, which was reported about 2:40 p.m. in the 70000 block of Tamarisk Lane, were not immediately known.
Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro said personnel with the sheriff’s Media Relations Bureau were on their way to the scene.
