A fire that started in an outside fireplace and spread to the kitchen area of a residence in Bermuda Dunes was knocked down by firefighters.
The fire in the 42000 block of Sandy Bay Drive was reported at 8:03 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters contained the flames at 8:41 p.m., the department reported.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
