A 19-year-old man was killed when his car slammed into a tree at a Jurupa Valley intersection, authorities said Friday.
Ricardo Aguilar of Menifee was fatally injured about 9:40 p.m. Thursday at San Sevaine Way and Wabash Drive, just south of the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said Aguilar was driving his compact sedan on San Sevaine when it veered off the roadway for unknown reasons, hitting the tree. Paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and pronounced the young man dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
San Sevaine was closed at Wabash for several hours while the wreckage was removed and a preliminary investigation was conducted.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley station at 951-955-2600.
