A man was wounded in a shooting near a grocery store in Costa Mesa Tuesday, and two people were taken into custody.
The shooting occurred about 7:35 a.m. near a Stater Bros. store at 2180 Newport Blvd., according to Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was expected to survive, Fyad said.
After an extensive search of the area, police tracked the suspect to the 2400 block of Newport Boulevard where he resides and arrested him and his mother.
Fyad identified the suspects as 37-year-old Rodney Otis Rich and 63-year-old Tammie Walker, both of Costa Mesa.
