The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Monday for Los Angeles and Oxnard that will remain in effect until 9 p.m.
In the Antelope Valley, cities including Lancaster and Palmdale are expected to face southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph this evening.
Drivers are urged to use extra caution, and be prepared for sudden, gusty cross winds. Drivers of high profile vehicles should be especially cautious because of the reduced visibility from blowing dust, the report stated.
