It will be another hot day in the Southland on Sunday, with temperatures in the 90s and no relief until well into next week.

“High pressure and weak offshore flow during the morning hours will keep hot temperatures across southwestern California through Columbus day,” according to the National Weather Service’s Oxnard office. “The valleys, foothills and desert areas will see temperatures climb into the 90s each day. “

The forecast for Los Angeles County from Malibu to Long Beach and including downtown Los Angeles calls for highs in the lower to mid 80s at the beaches and the lower to mid 90s inland.

Coastal Orange County will see highs 86 to 91 with light winds.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District predicted air quality will be in the good to unhealthful for sensitive groups range in the South Coast Air Basin on Sunday.

The weather service warned that hot conditions will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for the homeless, the elderly, infants, outdoor workers and those participating in outdoor activities.
