While a fog-created overnight ground stop was lifted at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday morning, driving in the Southland was still hazardous as a dense fog advisory was in effect in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Visibility will fall to a quarter-mile or less, according to the National Weather Service, which blamed the fog on a shallow but strong marine inversion.
In Los Angeles County, the fog was expected to create hazardous driving conditions on Pacific Coast Highway and the 10, 105, 110, 405, 605 and 710 freeways, forecasters said.
The advisory was scheduled to expire at 8 a.m. in Orange County and two hours later in L.A. County.
