High winds that swept across Los Angeles and Ventura counties Monday dropping temperatures have dissipated and wind advisories issued by the National Weather Service were cancelled early Tuesday morning.

The NWS issued a wind warning for the Antelope Valley and wind advisories for L.A. and Ventura counties at 10 a.m. Monday and they were supposed to run until 3 a.m. Tuesday. However, those winds calmed enough to allow the NWS to cancel the warning and the alerts at 12:15 a.m.

The high winds dropped temperatures and delivered a cold and breezy opening to spring in the Southland.

There will continue to be locally, blustery winds in mountains and across Antelope Valley through early Tuesday morning. But those gusty winds should remain below wind advisory thresholds, according to the NWS.
