The weather has been beautiful the past few days in the Southland, but we could see some springtime April showers by Thursday, even though it’s really early May.

Sunny, clear skies in the Southland will be a thing of the past Wednesday as clouds and early morning fog move in across the area with cooling temperatures.

The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Wednesday calls for mostly cloudy skies. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the 60s to around 70.

Wednesday night it will be mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s to around 60.

The forecast for Thursday calls for mostly cloudy skies. Patchy drizzle in the morning then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower to mid 60s.

In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Wednesday calls for a cloudy morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs 63 to 68.

Wednesday night it will be partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows 51 to 56.

Thursday it will be partly cloudy. Patchy drizzle in the morning then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs around 65.

The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Wednesday is a high 9, according to the weather service. A high exposure level reading of 7-9 means that a person could be sunburned in 7-8 minutes.
