We’re not done with warm weather yet.

There’s a bit of a heat wave coming to Southern California, making this coming weekend great for an end-of-summer beach bash.

Temperatures Thursday will be near the 80-degree mark in downtown Los Angeles and other inland areas. It’ll be warmer each day until Sunday’s expected 88. Monday’s high will also be 88.

The beach areas will be especially warm, with temperatures in the mid-80s by Sunday and Monday. After Thursday’s low to mid 70s, beaches will even be up to about 76 by Saturday.

Local valleys will all have highs around 5 degrees greater than those inland forecasts.

Despite warm temperatures during the day, overnight lows will still be cool, dipping down to the low 60s.

The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Thursday calls for sunny skies except for patchy low clouds and fog in the morning. Highs from the lower to mid 70s at the beaches to around 80 inland.

Thursday night it will be mostly clear in the evening then areas of low clouds and fog. Lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

The forecast for Friday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from around 70 at the beaches to the mid to upper 70s inland

In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Thursday calls for a partly cloudy in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs 72 to 77.

Thursday night it will be mostly clear in the evening, and then becoming partly cloudy. Fog overnight. Lows 59 to 64

Friday it will be mostly cloudy in the morning, and then becoming mostly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs 72 to 77.

The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Thursday is a high 8, according to the weather service. A high exposure level reading of 7-9 means that a person could be sunburned in 7-8 minutes.
