Gusty Santa Ana winds will buffet portions of Los Angeles county through Saturday afternoon and cause red flag fire danger.
The National Weather Service office in Oxnard warned that the winds will cause widespread drying. If a fire ignites, there will be the potential for rapid spread and extreme fire behavior.
Winds as high as 39 mph have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
The forecast for central Los Angeles from Malibu to Long Beach calls for partly cloudy conditions Saturday with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Low overnight will be in the lower to mid 50s.
