A low pressure system that moved into Southern California early Sunday is forecast to bring showers through Monday, but expect sunny skies and warmer temperatures as the week progresses.

In the Los Angeles area, rain is likely through much of Sunday, with calm wind and a high temperature near 57 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Chance of rain is 40 percent overnight, and a 50 percent chance of rain persists Monday with daytime highs reaching only into the upper 50s, the NWS reported.

Skies will begin to clear Monday evening, and the NWS reports Tuesday’s forecast will be sunny skies and a high near 61 degrees.

Temperatures will warm through the week, with daytime highs reaching into the upper 70s by Thursday.
