Firefighters worked Wednesday morning to increase containment of a wind-driven brush fire that broke out near the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the San Dimas area.

The blaze was reported early Tuesday afternoon west of Kellogg Drive and was burning uphill, amid a red flag warning of high fire danger due to strong winds and low humidity, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Spread of the blaze was stopped at about 3:10 p.m. after the fire scorched 40 acres.

The fire was 40% contained and crews worked throughout the early morning hours Wednesday to expand containment lines and snuff out hot spots, the department said.

No injuries were reported.
