For only the eighth time in more than 140 years, no measurable rain fell in downtown Los Angeles in February, the National Weather Service reported Monday.
February is typically downtown’s wettest month, averaging about 3.8 inches, according to weather service data.
Records began being kept in downtown Los Angeles in 1877.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor map published Thursday, much of Los Angeles County appeared to be in “moderate drought.”
