A wind advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday in the Antelope Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
Southwest winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected in Lancaster, Palmdale and Lake Los Angeles.
Gusty winds can blow unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for those in high-profile vehicles. Trees limbs and power lines can be blown down as well.
The areas of Highway 138 near Palmdale and south of Avenue D near the western foothills will see gusty crosswinds, the NWS said.
