A winter storm warning has been issued Monday for the Riverside County mountain areas and communities.
The National Weather Service issued the warning Sunday and it will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Monday.
The communities of Idyllwild and Pine Cove are under the winter storm warning.
Periods of snow, between 1 and 3 inches, are expected in areas above 4,000 feet, between 2 and 5 inches in areas above 5,000 feet, and 5 to 10 inches in areas above 6,00 feet. Up to an inch of snow is expected in areas above 3,500 feet, and up to 18 inches in areas above 7,500 feet.
Roads, bridges and overpasses will likely become slick and hazardous, the NWS said.
