One person was seriously injured Friday after a tractor-trailer collided with a guardrail and caught fire in Oasis.
Fire crews responded shortly before 4 a.m. Friday to a report of a collision in the area of Northbound Highway 86 Expressway and Avenue 81, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
“Firefighters are on-scene of a tractor-trailer that collided with the guardrail and caught fire,” fire officials said shortly before 8 a.m. “The truck contains batteries and firefighters continue to work on containing the fire.”
One person was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries by an air ambulance, according to fire officials.
The Riverside County Environmental Health Department responded to the scene to assess the clean-up needs.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
