A possible bomb which prompted the closure of the Hollywood (101) Freeway near Universal Studios was disc jockey equipment, a Los Angeles Fire Department official said Wednesday.

A collision Tuesday involving an SUV and a sedan resulted in Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bomb squads to be sent to examine a possible dangerous device inside one of the vehicles, authorities said.

The collision occurred on the southbound portion of the freeway at Barham Boulevard, just south of Universal City, authorities said.

Traffic was ordered diverted from the freeway in both directions.
