At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a California Highway Patrol car in Irwindale Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 3:57 p.m. on Irwindale Avenue near Ornelas Street, said CHP Officer Peter Bishop.
The driver of the vehicle struck by the CHP cruiser was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, Bishop said.
As a precaution, the officer driving the patrol car was also taken to a hospital, Bishop said.
Images from the scene showed a dark-colored sedan with heavy damage to its passenger side and the CHP car with a crumpled front end.
