The man, in his mid-40s, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after his body was found about 12:15 p.m. in some bushes near the Santa Anita Avenue off-ramp from the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway, according to El Monte police Lt. Ben Lowry.
Investigators know the man’s identity, but his name was being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.
