The Board of Supervisors Tuesday offered a $10,000 reward in hopes of tracking down a man who pistol-whipped a doctor in Venice when he refused to pay $150 for allegedly damaging a bicycle.

Supervisor Sheila Kuehl recommended the reward.

About 11:15 p.m. July 23, Dr. Bruce Lee was in his vehicle near Windward and Pacific Avenues when two men and a woman walked up and began shouting at him, saying he had damaged a bicycle parked nearby and demanding money.

One of the men got into the vehicle from the passenger side and beat Lee with a handgun.

Lee was taken to Southern California Hospital in Culver City for treatment of his injuries.

Anyone with information relevant to the case, was asked to call Los Angeles police Officer Theodore Bridges at (310) 482-6380.
