A coroner’s official Wednesday identified a woman whose body was found in a rooftop pool at an apartment building in Koreatown and said her death appeared to be accidental, but remains under investigation.
She was identified as Sung-Kyung Won, 38, of Los Angeles, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said. He said an autopsy was pending to determine the cause of death
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 7:40 a.m. to 691 S. Irolo St., where Won was pronounced dead at the scene, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Police were summoned at 7:45 a.m., said Officer Sal Ramirez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.
