A mobile crane fire with exposed containers Wilmington Friday evening was extinguished in 14 minutes by 23 firefighters with no injuries reported.
The fire was reported at 9:23 p.m. and Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters responded to the 1000 block of North Farragut Avenue, adjacent to the Terminal Island (103) Freeway and the Falcon Refuse Center, where they were able to protect the exposed containers from the flames in the large diesel crane, said LAFD spokesman Bert Fierro.
There were no complications with hazardous materials, Fierro said.
