Two men were shot, one fatally, in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles, and police are continuing an investigation Monday.

The shootings took place around 8 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Firestone Boulevard, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway and near Manchester Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

One man, described by police as a Hispanic adult male, died at the scene. His name will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The second victim, described as a Black man by police, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body, according to the LASD. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and was last reported to be in stable condition.

Two suspects were spotted walking up to the location of the shootings. They were last seen running east on Firestone Boulevard, the LASD reported. No description of the suspects was immediately available.

A motive for the shootings was unknown.
