A two-vehicle collision involving a semi trailer that completely destroyed the cab of the big rig closed multiple lanes of the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway Friday in San Dimas.

The collision was reported around 4:08 a.m. at the freeway and San Dimas Avenue. When officers from the California Highway Patrol arrived, they found the cab of the semi crushed and smoking near at the edge of the freeway, according to reports from the scene.

The driver of the semi was uninjured but was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics as a precaution, CHP Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.

No injuries were reported.

The crashed closed three lanes of the freeway while the CHP conducted an investigation of the crash.
