The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped for the fifth time in the last six days Thursday, falling six-tenths of a cent to $5.37.

The average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, but 33.2 cents more than one month ago and 44.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.124 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price increased two-tenths of a cent to $5.297, ending a streak of seven consecutive decreases. The Orange County average price is 4.9 cents less than one week ago, but 30.9 cents more than one month ago and 41.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.162 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the fifth time in the last six days, dipping two-tenths of a cent to $3.658. It is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 12.4 cents more than one month ago, and two-tenths of a cent more than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.358 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
