A big rig caught fire on Interstate 10 in Cathedral City Wednesday afternoon, prompting lane closures and subsequent traffic delays but no injuries.
The fire was reported at 2:55 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, east of Date Palm Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two of the artery’s four lanes were closed as of 4:30 p.m. while crews cleaned up the debris. The CHP did not provided an estimated reopening time.
