Alhambra police said Wednesday that eight vehicles have been stolen so far this month in the city, and they warned people to take steps to protect their rides.
Half of the thefts occurred in the northwestern part of the city, which is the area north of Mission Road and west of Atlantic Boulevard, near the city’s border with Los Angeles, according to the Alhambra Police Department.
Five of the eight cars stolen were Hondas, police reported. Two Toyotas and a Chrysler were also stolen.
Two vehicles have since been recovered by the Alhambra Police Department, and two others were recovered by outside agencies, police said.
Most of the cars were stolen while parked on residential streets, according to police.
“Park in a well-lit area or in your garage. Also, please do not leave a spare key to the car, another car, or your home keys inside,” police said in a statement.
