The numbers in Friday evening’s draw of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery are 4, 26, 42, 50, 60 and the Mega number is 24.
The estimated jackpot is $1 billion, the third-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The only larger jackpots were $1.586 billion for the Jan. 13, 2016, Powerball drawing and $1.537 billion for the Oct. 23, 2018, Mega Millions drawing.
The drawing was the 37th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold, the longest streak without a jackpot winner in the history of the game that began in 2002.
The most recent drawing where a ticket with all six numbers was sold was Sept. 15.
If a ticket with all six numbers is sold, the winner will have the option of receiving the jackpot paid in 30 annual payments, with each payment 5% larger than the previous one, or the cash option, a one-time, lump-sum payment equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool which is $739.6 million for Friday’s drawing.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.
The Mega Millions game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
