A brush fire that erupted in Moreno Valley was fully contained Friday after scorching roughly 65 acres.
The fire was first reported at 7:03 p.m. Thursday in a difficult-to-access area near Nason Street and Dracaea Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze grew to about 40 acres by midnight, but crews had managed to building containment lines around more than half of the blaze by that point.
By about 8:30 a.m. Friday, the fire department reported full containment of the blaze, with the final size estimated at 65 acres.
There were no reports of structural damage or injuries.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
