A 25-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the Golden State (5) Freeway Tuesday near Mission Hills.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:23 a.m. to the northbound freeway and the San Fernando Mission off-ramp, where they found the pedestrian in the freeway’s middle lanes, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Anthony Mendoza.
