A 30-year-old Perris man on parole for a previous sexual assault has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile and an adult in separate incidents in Temecula, authorities said Saturday.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Southwest station responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a juvenile in the 40000 block of Winchester Road at about 5:20 p.m. Friday.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, identified as Jacob Paulsen, had also sexually assaulted an adult victim during a separate incident that occurred less than two hours prior at a business in the 20000 block of Ynez Road, the department said.

Deputies also determined that Paulsen was an active sex registrant and on parole for sexual assault. He was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, sexual battery, indecent exposure and violation of parole.

Bail was set at $500,000.

Sheriff’s officials said there may be additional victims of similar crimes involving Paulsen. Anyone with information regarding the investigation was urged to contact Corporal K. Au at 951-696-3000, or sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099.
