A Silver Alert is in effect Saturday in Riverside County on behalf of an at-risk 84-year-old woman last seen in Indio.
Mayra Porrasdesantiago was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday at Via Arleta and Avenida Los Padres, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Indio Police Department.
Porrasdesantiago is Latina, 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 116 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes. She was seen wearing a red sweater with black polkadots, black pants and blue shoes. Authorities say Porrasdesantiago is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Porrasdesantiago or knows of her whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate searches for missing elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
