Motorists will face extended lane closures on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway through Sepulveda Pass during overnight hours beginning Friday evening and lasting through the weekend.

Northbound freeway lanes will be reduced to three lanes overnight from Friday through Monday, according to Caltrans.

The work is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. Friday. It will cease by 5 a.m. Monday

Scheduled lane reductions and ramp closures are as follows:

— The northbound 405 will be reduced to three lanes between Skirball Center Drive and Ventura Boulevard;

— The Skirball Center Drive on-ramp to the northbound 405 will be closed;

— The northbound 405 off-ramp at Getty Center Drive will be closed.

Southbound 405 lanes will not be affected.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, including taking northbound Sepulveda Boulevard to the Greenleaf/Ventura Boulevard on-ramp.

More extended weekend lane reductions are on tap for the $143.7 million I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project between the Los Angeles communities of Van Nuys and Westwood along the Sepulveda Pass.
