The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee and the Play Equity Fund will host a free soccer clinic and community celebration Saturday at Galaxy Park in Carson aimed at inspiring young players, coaches and referees ahead of the World Cup.

The “Grow the Game of Soccer” clinic is part of the host committee’s legacy program leading up to the World Cup and will feature support from the LA Galaxy, Cal South and the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport, according to the committee.

Organizers said the festival-style event is designed “to create meaningful opportunities for Angelenos and use the spotlight of the world’s largest single-sport event to inspire the next generation of soccer players, coaches, and referees across the region.”

Youth players ages 6 to 12 will participate in skill-building training sessions.

“Coaches will take part in educational, on-field learning that introduces a modern training approach centered on positive youth development and long-term growth,” organizers said in a statement.

Referees will take part in instructional sessions focused on developing their skills, deepening their understanding of the game and reinforcing their role in promoting a positive playing environment, according to the statement.

Participants include Kathryn Schloessman, president and CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission and CEO of the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee, along with Renata Simril, president and CEO of the LA84 Foundation and president of the Play Equity Fund.

The clinic is set for 4:45 p.m., with check in starting at 3:30 p.m., Galaxy Park, 18400 Avalon Blvd.
