Forget April showers – we’re in for hot, wild winds Saturday morning and summer-like temperatures across the Southland through Monday that’ll probably bring huge crowds and heavy traffic to local beaches this weekend.
The Santa Ana winds should ease off later in the day Saturday, but may come back Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service office in Oxnard said a low pressure system to the east will continue to generate gusty winds over most of the mountains and valleys of Los Angeles. While these winds will be weaker than the strong and damaging winds experienced on Friday morning that caused numerous power outages, they will remain gusty and dangerous.
High temperatures in downtown Los Angeles and other inland areas will be about 86 Satufday, 88 Sunday and 87 Monday. It won’t get down into the upper 70s until Wednesday. The beaches will also be in the mid 80s through Tuesday with sunny skies and no rain – or even many clouds – through early next week.
Overnnight lows will still be in the mid 50s to low 60s.
