Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and one person were recovering from minor injuries Wednesday sustained during a vehicle collision.
Two deputies in a patrol vehicle were traveling eastbound on Avenue K around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday when they collided into a silver Nissan Altima traveling northbound at the intersection of Avenue K and 6th Street East, Deputy Trace Koerner said.
The deputies were unable to stop and collided into the driver’s side door of the Nissan, according to the sheriff’s department.
The driver of the Nissan Altima was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the sheriff’s department said.
The two deputies later went to the hospital, not by ambulance, to get examined after experiencing ”minor soreness,” Koerner said.
The deputies were not using their sirens at the time of the collision, the sheriff’s department said.
Video from the scene shows the destroyed Nissan Altima where it careened onto the side of the road and personnel from the sheriff’s department, Lancaster Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department responding to the scene.
