A pedestrian was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash in Compton Wednesday.
The crash was reported about 4:50 a.m. Wednesday on Alameda Street near Pine Street, near the border with unincorporated Willowbrook, said the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, whose age and gender where not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene, a watch sergeant at the sheriff’s Compton Station said.
He was unable to provide a description of the suspect vehicle.
Motorists were advised to avoid the intersection of Alameda and Pine streets as deputies investigated and awaited personnel from the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
