A 19-year-old transient was booked Tuesday on suspicion of stabbing the father of an underage girl he wanted to have a relationship with, a Placentia police lieutenant said.
Erick Nolasco went to the home of the underage teen this morning and got into an argument with the girl’s 39-year-old father in the driveway of the residence in the 300 block of Twilight, Placentia police Lt. Eric Point said.
The argument escalated and about 6:15 a.m. Nolasco allegedly stabbed the victim in the stomach area, Point said.
The victim was hurt severely enough that the first hospital he arrived at was not equipped to treat him and he was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and was expected to survive, Point said.
“Last word I got was he successfully made it through surgery and is in stable condition,” Point said.
Police arrested Nolasco about 12:30 p.m., Point said.
“He’s definitely trying to have a relationship with the girl, but I don’t know the extent of it,” Point said. “But it wasn’t a relationship the parents or family wanted.”
